- jeees - that may be true for normal people but some guys like to hit anything that can't hurt them back. That's why they call 'em mean drunks. Of course some guys don't even need to be drunk, they just wail on an innocent victim because they had a bad day.

- This is not universally true as it is a generalization but all one has to do is look at a man's choice of whom he marries sometimes. Mirkarimi, 50, is head & shoulders taller than his wife (who is probably wearing heels) and is probably twice her weight. Petite, gorgeous Lopez is 36.

- Skeptical - I think globally and act locally. Btw, as much as I love my dog and my cat (and I love them a lot) I would save your life before I saved theirs. I care more about you (whom I don't know) than I do about my dog and my cat (my cat sleeps w/ me). I just value human life above animal life.

I realize I would be drawing from sci-fi but some of our favorite mad scientists are the villains because they experimented …

- I am with MnaFromNantucket. Even w/ animal testing, products & procedures still hit the market that have to be pulled because of dangerous side effects. Can you imagine how much worse this would be with out animal testing!? I for one would rather see the tests run on animals than humans.

- Not all kids who carry their cell phones to school use them during class. Some actually care about the rules. I had to pick my son (17) up early from school last week for a doc appt. Pulled up to the school and called his cell so he'd come out but he was still in the classroom.

- I agree that it truly abases the honor by handing it out to musicians and actors. It would be better to award these honor to public servants (firefighters & police officers who repeatedly laid their lives on the line.

- If he were in the general population for 2 yrs for DWI & grand theft auto 1st offense I'd say punishment fits crime but solitary for even one week must be hell. He wasn't even guilty of starting fights in jail. Totally deplorable, totally inexcusable. But $22mil...
